Mama Coca — Mother Coca

Mama Coca is one of the most sacred offerings in the entire Willka Maki collection because she does not simply carry medicine, she is medicine.

Ancient, living and deeply misunderstood by a world that forgot how to listen to the plants.

This pendant was channelled in the form of the sacred coca leaf — the most revered plant of the Andean world.

And not of the distortion, or the extraction but the sacred coca leaf itself. Mama Coca is holy exactly as Pachamama intended her to be.

For thousands of years before the world ever heard of cocaine, the sacred coca leaf was prayer. She was the first offering placed on the altar. The bridge between the human world and the spirit world.

The plant that sustained the Inca on their mountain crossings, that opened the channel of communication with the ancestors and that was chewed in ceremony and held in the mouth during moments of deep intention and gratitude.

Mama Coca arrives in green Peruvian serpentine, swirling with the forest greens of the jungle canopy, the sacred valley and the living earth from which the coca plant grows. She is held within a bronze setting etched with ancient iconographic borders — honouring the lineage and the civilisations that walked in right relationship with this sacred plant for millennia. At her crown is a single moonstone. Small, luminous and perfect. The dewdrop on the morning leaf and the lunar light that blesses what grows beneath it.

She hangs on a long chain resting over the heart, over the chest and close to the prayer. Exactly where she belongs.

Green Peruvian Serpentine carries the medicine of:

✧ Deep connection to Pachamama & the plant world

✧ Cellular healing & renewal of life force

✧ Opening and clearing the heart chakra

✧ Grounding ancestral wisdom into the physical body

✧ Prosperity, abundance & alignment with natural flow

✧ Protection on the sacred path

✧ Remembrance of right relationship with the earth

Moonstone carries the medicine of:

✧ Lunar blessing & divine feminine wisdom

✧ Intuition & the inner knowing of the plant medicines

✧ New beginnings & cyclical grace

✧ Activating the channel between human and spirit world

✧ Purity of intention in prayer and ceremony

The Coca Leaf carries the medicine of:

✧ Sacred communication with the ancestors

✧ Offering, gratitude & the act of giving back to the earth

✧ Sustenance of the body, mind and spirit on the path

✧ Protection and purification of the energy field

✧ The truth of plant medicine before the world’s distortion

✧ Ayni — sacred reciprocity — the original law of the Andes

✧ Remembrance that every plant is a being with intelligence and purpose

Mama Coca was channelled for the one who knows the truth of the sacred coca leaf. Who has sat with her in ceremony. Who has placed her on the altar with prayer. Who has felt her sustain the body on long mountain walks and open the heart in moments of gratitude and grief alike. And for the one who is only just beginning to learn, who feels called to understand the real story behind one of the most sacred and most misrepresented plants on earth.

To wear Mama Coca is to carry her medicine close.

To declare quietly, visibly and without apology — that you know the difference between the sacred and its distortion. That you choose to honour what is true.

That you walk in right relationship with the plant world and the ancestral wisdom it carries.

Before leaving our hands, each piece is cleansed with mapacho, anointed with Agua Florida, and blessed through the sacred smoke of palo santo and copal — arriving to you already held, already blessed, already alive.

This piece is a prayer worn over the heart of the one who remembers that every plant is sacred, every leaf is medicine, and every offering made in love is received.

“I know the truth of what is sacred. I will not confuse the plant with its distortion — the leaf with what was made from it against her will. I wear Mama Coca over my heart as a declaration of right relationship — with the earth, with the ancestors, with the living intelligence of the plant world. I give thanks. I offer in return. I walk in Ayni. Always.”
