This is the most technically demanding piece in the entire Willka Maki collection. Each interlocking spiral is placed individually by hand, with devotion, with the kind of focused presence that transforms craft into ceremony and time into medicine. There is no shortcut here and there is simply no rushing.. The piece reveals itself only to the maker who is willing to surrender completely to the process and to let go of the destination and live entirely inside each moment of creation.
The design is a living flower of life with spirals forming from spirals, each one unique, each one part of an infinite pattern that has no true beginning and no true end. This pattern unfolds organically, continuously, infinitely and differently every time. This piece is guided by the intelligence of the hands and the devotion of the heart that moves them.
This extraordinary web of interlocking filigrana drapes across the entire hand like sacred armour covering, protecting and adorning every surface from wrist to middle finger. The middle finger — the longest, the most sovereign, the one that points the way is drawn into the piece deliberately. It is the finger of Saturn, of authority, of the one who leads from inner knowing rather than outer permission.
At the wrist, chrysocolla blazes like the eye at the centre of the flower with deep teal and jungle green, luminous and alive. The still point from which all the spirals radiate. The anchor of the whole living creation.
This piece is both armour and invitation. It protects the hands — the sacred instruments of creation, of healing, of offering while simultaneously opening them to a deeper level of remembrance of what these hands are here to do. With what they carry and what they are capable of truly creating.
